Tenses

It is crucial to use the correct tense used in the entire description. Students usually make mistakes while writing sentences in the present tense or the past tense.

1) Where Is the Simple Present Tense Used When You Write About the Festival?

    The simple present tense describes things or actions which happen right now (present).

    Example:

    The festival teaches us that good always wins over evil and that we must eradicate darkness with light.

    While describing the historical or cultural relevance of a celebration, the sentences used can be in the past tense.

    Example:

    According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama returned home from his 14-year exile in the forest to Ayodhya, his hometown, after killing the demon king Ravana
