Sense Organs for Class 1 Science

Some specialised organs in our body that help us in control and coordination are called sense organs. The learning concept will introduce the learners to various sense organs and their uses.

After reading the concept, students will be able to:

  • Identify the five sense organs.
  • List the sense organs and their functions.
  • State the measures to be taken to keep the sense organs healthy.

The concept explaination will explain the function of the following organs:

  • Eyes
  • Nose
  • Ear
  • Skin
  • Tongue

Each concept is explained to class 1 students using descriptions, illustrations, and concept maps. After you go through a concept, assess your learning by solving the two printable worksheets given at the end of the page.
Download the worksheets and check your answers with the worksheet solutions for the concept Sense Organs and their Functions provided in PDF format.

  • Have you ever wondered how you would have listened to sounds without ears?
  • How would you smell without a nose?
  • We cannot think of our body working properly without a nose or ears.
  • These organs are as important as the other organs. Any other organs of the body cannot replace their functions.
