Solar System Planet

The inner system planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. These planets are also called terrestrial planets, primarily made of rock and metal. Also, the inner solar system contains an asteroid belt which can be seen between the orbit of Mars and Jupiter. The other four planets in the outer system are larger and more massive than the terrestrial planets. These planets are

  1. Jupiter,
  2. Saturn,
  3. Uranus and
  4. Neptune.

The gas giants are Jupiter and Saturn, and the ice giants are Uranus and Neptune. All eight planets orbit the sun in a nearly circular orbit that lies on the earth’s orbit plane. Also, dwarf planets orbit the sun, and an uncountable number of small solar system bodies orbit around the sun.
