2D Shapes Question

1) Sita and Gita Running a Race. Sita Is Running Inside the Football Ground, and Gita Is Running Outside the Football Ground.

The Outside of the Ground Is 110 Meters Long and 60 Meters Wide.

The Inside of the Ground Is 105 Meters Long and 50 Meters Wide.

  1. What Is the Inside Boundary Length?
  2. What Is the Outside Boundary Length?
  3. Who Will Cover the Most Boundary Length in the Race?
  4. What Is the Length Difference Between Inside and Outside Boundary Length?
  1. For inside boundary length
    Length = 105 meters
    Wide = 50 meters
    Boundary length = (105 + 105 + 50 + 50) meters
    = 310 meters
    So, the inside boundary length is 310 meters.
  2. For outside boundary length
    Length = 110 meters
    Wide = 60 meters
    Boundary length = (110 + 110 + 60 + 60) meters
    = 340 meters
    So, the outside boundary length is 340 meters.
  3. Here the outside boundary length is greater than the inside boundary length.
    Also, Gita is running outside the Ground.
    Gita covers the most boundary length in the Race.
  4. Boundary length difference
    =

The difference between the inside and outside boundary length is 30 meters.

2) Roni and Toni Are Playing on a Football Ground. The Picture of the Ground Is Given Below:

Roni tells Toni to find two types of 2D shapes in the Ground.

  1. What Will Be Toni’s Answer?
  2. How Many 2-D Shapes Are Present in the Ground?
  1. Toni’s answer is:
    • Circle
    • Rectangle

       b. The numbers:

2D Shapes Numbers
Circle 1
Rectangle 9
Semi circle 4

3) Two Rectangular Shape Food Ball Grounds Is Given Below:

  1. Find the Area of the Given Two Grounds?
  2. Which Ground Covers the Largest Area?
  3. Which Ground Covers the Smallest Area?
  4. What Is the Area Difference Between the Two Grounds?
  1. For Ground 1
    Length = 120 meters
    Wide = 70 meters
    Area = (120 × 70) square meters
    = 8,400 square meters
    For Ground 2
    Length = 100 meters
    Wide = 50 meters
    Area = (100 × 50) square meters
    = 5,000 square meters
    So, the area of Ground 1 is 8,400 square meters, and the area of ground 2 is 5,000 square meters.
  2. Since the area of ground 1 is 8400 sq. m.
    So, Ground 1 covers the largest area.
  3. Since the area of ground 2 is 5000 sq. m.
    Ground 2 covers the smallest area.
  4. Area difference
    =

The difference in area between the two grounds is 3400 square meters.
