- This painting is done on mud walls, canvas, paper and cloth; the tribal people use vegetable colours and natural ingredients for preparing dyes and paints. Two types of tribal arts are as follows:
Warli Art:
- It is a famous art form from Maharashtra.
- These paintings are done with white colours on dark-coloured backgrounds.
- Different types of geometrical shapes, like circles and triangles, are used in these paintings.
- Activities like hunting, dancing, fishing and farming are portrayed in warli paintings.
Pattachitra Painting:
- This painting is tribal art from Odhisa and West Bengal.
- This painting is done on a canvas with lines and colours.
- Figures of Gods and Goddesses are depicted in pattachitra paintings.
2.What Is Madhubani Painting?
- Madhubani art or Madhubani painting got its name from the Madhubani district in Bihar.
- This type of artwork is done by the painters of the Mithila region in Bihar and Nepal.
- Traditional Madhubani paintings are done on the mud walls of huts, cloth and paper.
- Different figures from mythology, epics, and religious books are painted on fabric, and the paints are prepared with colours and rice flour.

- Ghurni is a neighbourhood area in the Nadia district of West Bengal.
- This place is famous for clay dolls, sculptures, and bronze cast artisans.
4.What Is Ajrakh Print?
- Ajrakh craft is a type of block printing that is done with colours.
- Mainly indigo colour is used in this block print.
- The intricate designs are made on the blocks, which are then used to print on cotton fabrics.
