• According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu killed Hiranyakashipu, the king of Asuras, a day before Holi.
• People celebrate this victory by playing with colours and eating sweets during the festival of Holi.

To make rangolis, we use powdered colours and stencils.

3.What Is Chaath?

• Chaath is a religious festival celebrated mainly in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in October or November.
• On this auspicious occasion, people pray to Chaathi Maiya.
• This day is celebrated to signify the importance of the sun on Earth.
• People worship the sun or Surya devta and thank him for his presence and giving life to Earth.

• Muslims follow the lunar calendar.

• The next day is declared and celebrated as Eid if it is visible after the 29th day of the last lunar month.

• Langar is a type of community kitchen which serves free food to the visitors at Gurudwaras.
• Anybody can give free services to these community kitchens.
