3.What Is Chaath?

  • Chaath is a religious festival celebrated mainly in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in October or November.
  • On this auspicious occasion, people pray to Chaathi Maiya.
  • This day is celebrated to signify the importance of the sun on Earth.
  • People worship the sun or Surya devta and thank him for his presence and giving life to Earth.
