  • The size of roads varies based on the number of vehicles moving on that road.
  • Earlier, the use of vehicles was limited, and hence, the roads were made narrow.
  • However, with the increase in vehicles, broad roads like highways and expressways were constructed to manage the traffic.

2.How Are Cars and Trains Different, Although They Both Move On Land?

i) The car's wheels are covered by rubber. i) The train wheels do not have such coverage. They are made of iron.
ii) It can travel in any open space or road. ii) It needs metal tracks to move.
iii) Being smaller in size, it can turn easily. iii) Being larger and longer in size, it cannot turn easily.

3.It Is Fun to Sit in the Front Seat of a Car. But Why Are Children Not Allowed to Sit in Front?

Children are not allowed to sit in the front seat due to the following reasons—

  • In the case of accidents, the person in the front seat is more prone to injuries.
  • Children block the view of the rear-view mirror unknowingly.
  • Children may fall asleep in the front seat, which may distract the driver.

4.What Is the Purpose of a Tollbooth?

  • The highways built for the smooth passage of vehicles require a vast amount of capital investment.
  • Tollbooths are made to collect money in the form of tax from travellers. The money is then used to maintain and construct more roads on various routes.
