What is Safety?
- Safety means being free from any accident or any danger.
- We need to follow specific rules to keep ourselves safe.
- It will allow us to avoid accidents and injuries.
Safety at Home:
1. Do Not Play with Sharp and Heavy Things:
Do you see the following objects at home?
- All these things are very useful for us.
- You should not pick or handle these things alone.
- They have sharp edges that can cut your hand and hurt you.
- Hammer is a weighty thing that you should not touch. It can hurt you if it suddenly falls on your hands or legs.
2. Do Not Light Matchsticks and Candles on Your Own:
- Do not play with fire because it can hurt you.
- Fire causes burns which can cause pain and damage your body parts.
3. Do Not Play with Electric Plug Points and Switches:
- Do not play with switches and electric plug points at home.
- Those may give you electric shocks, and you will get hurt.
- Never switch on anything with wet hands.
- If you want to turn on the television or a music system, ask for help from yours parents.
4. Do Not Play in the Kitchen:
- The place where we cook food on the stove and store our daily groceries and utensils is called the kitchen.
- While cooking, we use gas burners; if you play near the flame, you may hurt yourself.
- You must stay away from the knives and peelers used in the kitchen.
